Theo Pourchaire

Sauber junior talent Théo Pourchaire currently races for ART Grand Prix in Formula 2. The Frenchman has taken championships at almost every level he has raced in and is widely expected to make the jump to Formula 1 in the future.

Early career in karting and F4 titles

His career began with consecutive French karting championships in the cadet and junior levels between 2013 and 2016 as well as finishing third in the 2016 CIK-FIA World Junior Championship – OK Junior series.

In 2018, he graduated up to French F4 where he won the title in his maiden season. The following year, he switched to German F4 and claimed another title that year ahead of the likes of Dennis Hauger and Arthur Leclerc.

Graduation to Formula 3 and F2

In 2020, he finished runner-up to Oscar Piastri in FIA F3 after a closely-fought season-long battle. He achieved to race victories across the season and six more podiums to put him into contention for the title.

Pourchaire was the outside bet of the trio competing for the championship but podiums at Monza and Mugello thrust him back into contention, only to fall three points short of first place.

He then moved up to Formula 2 with ART and ended his first season 5th in the standings.

He signed another deal to remain with ART for the 2022 season and remains highly-rated by Alfa Romeo team boss Fred Vasseur. Pourchaire is tipped to graduate to F1 in 2023 with the team after being linked with the seat that eventually went to Guanyu Zhou for 2022.
