Antonio Creus

Full Name:
Antonio Creus y Rubin de Celis
28th October 1924
19th February 1996 (Aged 71)
Most recent race (in database):

Gentleman driver Antonio Creus raced motorcycles before switching to sports cars in the mid 1950s – initially with a Pegaso before buying a Ferrari 750 Monza.

Creus then acquired an ex-works Maserati 250F which he crashed during the non-championship 1958 Syracuse GP. That was only one of two Formula 1 races he entered with the car but the next was a round of the world championship.

Creus travelled to South America and was the slowest qualifier for the 1960 Argentine GP. He retired from the race after 17 laps when suffering from fumes and sunstroke for which he was treated in hospital. He continued to race the car in minor events from time-to-time although he was not seen in international racing again.
